Sen Hart and his friend, Billy Higgins who has been fund-raising for the youth of Southill since 1985, also visited Limerick Enterprise Development Park.
“I would like to thank Mr Higgins for sponsoring the winners trophy, Mark Nolan, general manager at Dromoland Castle and John O’Halloran of Dromoland Castle Golf Club for their generous sponsorship, which ensures the success of his event,” Mr Haugh said.
He added that he was most grateful to those who had entered teams and given generous sponsorship.
This was Sen Hart’s first time in Limerick. “I really like Limerick. It’s a splendid city, and reminds me of where I come from in Boston. What makes Limerick great is that it’s made up of communities and not just buildings.”
The focus of their trip was to provide opportunities for the young people in the Southside of Limerick through education, and by encouraging American companies to locate their business in the LEDP.
“Billy Higgins has a long association with promoting opportunities for young people in the Southside of Limerick, and he brought me here to show me what’s going on here in the LEDP,” Sen Hart said.
Mr Higgins added that he believes Limerick is an ideal location for business development because of its educational and training resources.
